Job Description: Reporting to the Deputy Superintendent, this position is accountable for overseeing the day-to day-activities of KTCEA’s Outreach Schools (4) which provide Grade 7-12 courses for students ages 12-21 and adult learners not currently in school. This position also teaches designated courses and acts as a backup teacher when required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education from recognized a recognized university or universities, and a minimum five (5) years teaching experience. Prior experience as a Principal or Vice-Principal, and experience in a land-based education setting an asset. Equivalencies will be considered
- Permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Fluency in Cree an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture, organizations, and communities
- Ability to meet Alberta Education’s Leadership Quality Standard
- Sound knowledge/awareness of the provincial curriculum and relevant, emergent matters in the provincial education system
- Ability to promote Outreach programming to the communities in which we are located
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Solid leadership, team-building, and organizational skills
- Excellent public relations and networking skills
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications as required by the role
- Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and the ability to travel
