Oct 19, 2021 | Announcement, Events

We are hosting a virtual kick-off event for our Junior/Senior High students next week, Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 1:00-3:00 pm. Please contact Gwena Cunningham at gwena.cunningham@ktcea.ca for more information and the meeting details.
The keynote speaker will be Devin Buffalo, a former ECHL and Division 1 hockey goalie for Dartmouth College. His achievements include a Hobey Baker nomination, MVP for Dartmouth Men’s Hockey Team, Second Team All-Ivy League, nomination for Male Athlete of the Year, and finalist for NCAA Hockey Humanitarian Award for his community involvement. After his playing career, Devin has developed the brand Waniska Athletics, a brand that would empower the next generation of Indigenous athletes. Devin hopes his story can bridge the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people by promoting empathy and compassion for one another. As a former elite student athlete, Devin focuses on spreading the importance that succeeding in the classroom correlates with succeeding on the ice, field, or court.
