She began her dance career at Sherwood Park School of Dance, trained professionally with Kore Dance Studio and Eye Candy Studios, and has travelled around Canada and the US learning from the industry’s top choreographers. She became a student teacher in her teen years and found joy in helping and teaching younger dancers. Today, Sarah has been a full-time dance teacher and choreographer for the past eight years and enjoys teaching a range of styles from beginner to adult level. Sarah continues to strive for growth not only as a teacher but as a dancer as well. She is experienced in tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, contemporary, and hip hop and has received many awards within each of those genres throughout her life. Notably, the Harbour Dance Centre scholarship, and the Rocky Mountain Dance Project scholarship. Sarah has also completed exams in Al Gilbert Tap and Royal Academy of Dance Ballet as part of her dance training. Recently, Miss Brown has won 1st place with local professional hip hop group, NXG Company at World of Dance Los Angeles in 2015 and World of Dance Edmonton 2017. She has also taken her dance career international by representing Eye Candy Studios at hip hop dance competitions in Seattle, Arizona, and Vancouver. Although she enjoys sharing her passion as a dance teacher, Sarah believes in always being a student to the art of dance. This past year, Sarah graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and looks forward to integrating her education and experience into her dance classes. Sarah is a positive and dedicated dance teacher who has also received several awards for her choreography, including “Choreography of the Day” award.
