Tanisi and welcome to the 2019-2020 KTCEA School Year!

I am delighted to share with that we have a full compliment of education staff in all of our six schools this year. Joining our amazing team are 21 new highly qualified and passionate teachers, leaders and school support staff. On behalf of KTCEA, I warmly welcome you!
Our vision is: Nehiyaw Kiskinohamakiwin Nakaciwin, Excellence in Indigenous Education. We are committed to working closely with community members across all five of our member First Nations to achieve this vision.
Our strength is in the richness of our language, history, identity and ways of being. This school year, we plan on holding more land-based learning camps. We are also preparing to launch a Cree App. The App was developed closely with over 100 local language speakers and Elders. Cree language and land-based learning are two of the cornerstones of KTCEA.
We are also launching School Parent Advisory Circles in each of the communities this year. Your involvement is an essential part of the success and well-being of our students. If you have any questions about School Parent Advisory Circles, please contact Bill Sewepagaham. Bill is the new Community, Parent and Elder Engagement Coordinator with KTCEA. He can be reached at (780) 649-3103.
